Creating LASTING Change: Yes, AND....

One of the things that I love the most about the work that I get to do is helping other educators, Social Emotional Learning specialists, school administrators, counselors, and families create LASTING change. I'm not talking about putting band-aids everywhere, creating fluff, and making it "look good" to people on the outside. I'm talking about longevity. I'm talking about sustainability. I'm talking about equity for ALL students...especially those students who were born with a brain that makes navigating the social world tricky.

And now this can be YOUR super power too. It GETS to be yours. Because you are a "Yes, AND..." type of person. I know you are because you wouldn't be reading this if you were thinking "Yes, BUT..." Check out the difference...

Yes AND I'm going to research how to do this better.

Yes AND I think there might be someone who can help me.

Yes AND I know it's going to take some time.

Yes AND it might take us on a different path...AND it might be scary....AND that's ok.

Yes AND I know that this is going to be WORTH it.

Yes AND I'm going to invest in myself AND my students.

Yes BUT we've always done it this way.

Yes BUT we don't have the time/money to invest in someone/something else.

Yes BUT we just hired someone to do this job for us.

Yes BUT we purchased a curriculum to do this.

Yes BUT our teachers won't be able to connect with someone outside of our school/district.

Yes BUT I'm scared it might not work.

Do you see what I mean?

It's my passion to work alongside like-minded, heart-centered, humans who are ready to create an impact...TRUE long lasting change, in their classrooms, schools, districts, and homes. Because this work GETS to be easy...And I'm here to support you no matter where you are on your journey.

This testimonial is from someone that I hold near and dear to my heart.

"I had the unique honor of knowing Kim when she first embarked on her journey into SEL. She came to me seeking resources, information, ANYTHING she could use to support her students. I handed over my coveted Social Thinking books hoping they could give her another perspective into the minds of neuro-diverse students. Literally overnight, Kim transformed her classroom community into one that was so amazing it could be FELT as soon as you entered her pineapple paradise!

Next thing I know, people are visiting her room, asking her for advice, and seeking her “secret” to making her school day not only manageable but warm, loving, and supportive to ALL students. I saw first hand how students learned to support one another, communicate more effectively, and become self-advocates.

Fortunately, Kim envisioned how her systems and supports could benefit all students, not just in her classroom but across the district and community, as well. With the support of district administration, she created a team of paraeducators that could be utilized, under her leadership, to spread this goodness at the elementary and secondary levels. She also lead parent nights knowing her systems benefited students, not just at school, but anywhere and everywhere.

I was devastated when she left our district but I see how this truly was the next step in creating an inclusive, supportive, loving community both nationally and internationally. Kim is positively changing the lives of students, educators, and families. I have grown so much from her presentations, resources, and collaboration. I am eternally grateful to you Kim!"

So what's it gonna be? Yes, BUT....or Yes, AND....

This is YOUR journey. You get to call the shots. AND when you're ready, I'm so here for you.
