The BISON Mentality in Action
A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to spend time with a group of amazing educators in Northern California. Throughout our week together, I was consistently blown away by the passion, dedication, and resilience demonstrated by these teachers. The BISON Mentality was on full display, and it was truly inspiring to witness.
One teacher in particular, Tammy, shared her experience, and her words perfectly encapsulated the transformative power of our program. Tammy expressed how the week had been such a powerful time, bringing together educators who were committed to making a difference in their students' lives. The BISON Mentality was evident in every interaction, as these educators supported one another, shared their experiences, and collaborated to find solutions.
"We got the tools that we can implement in our classroom tomorrow. Nothing is unachievable."
But here's what really blew me away: Tammy's excitement about the practical tools and strategies she picked up during our time together. That right there is the BISON Mentality in action – It's that unshakable, rock-solid belief that we've got what it takes to tackle any challenge that comes our way and create real, meaningful change in our classrooms. It's not about just talking the talk; it's about rolling up our sleeves and walking the walk. And that's exactly what Tammy and all those incredible educators in NorCal are doing. They're not just sitting around, waiting for someone else to fix things. They're making things happen, one practical tool and strategy at a time.
"Everything is just so relatable. The teachers that we saw today were authentic, real, and the students, they were just swallowing everything up and responding to everything."
Tammy also highlighted the authenticity and relatability of the teachers, students, and coaches throughout the week. And let me tell you, THAT is the BISON Mentality in action. When we as educators show up with our whole, genuine selves, ready to be vulnerable and connect with our students on a real level, that's when the magic starts happening. It's not about putting on a front or trying to be someone we're not. It's about being true to ourselves and letting that authenticity shine through in everything we do. That's what the BISON Mentality is all about, and that's what I saw in those incredible teachers in NorCal. They weren't afraid to be real, to let their guard down, and to create meaningful connections with their students. And the results? Pure magic, y'all. Pure magic.
Listening to Tammy's words, I felt a rush of pride and gratitude. Pride in the mind-blowing work these educators are doing, and gratitude for the chance to be a part of their journey. Tammy's excitement to bring her new knowledge back to her classroom is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. It's not just about giving out tools and strategies; it's about sparking a fire in our hearts to create lasting change.
And you know what? The BISON Mentality doesn't just stay in the classroom. Tammy even told her husband about the tools she gained during our week together. That's the thing about embracing the BISON Mentality – it spills over into every part of our lives.
We become better educators, better partners, better friends, and better versions of ourselves.
